Azorean Butterflies

At the invitation of the Nine Dots Azorean Art Boutique Hotel, we created a ceramic panel for the lounge bar wall. In a space that celebrates Azorean arts, it was essential to incorporate local references. A swarm of butterflies with Azorean silhouettes was designed to enter the space, spreading joy. Three silhouettes were chosen—Bella Dama, Azulinha-Bela, and Borboleta-da-Couve-dos-Açores—combined with lace textures from Pico Island and the colours of the landscape and the hotel: blue, green, and heather.
